The operation
According to reports, the incident began when the man visited a medical facility for a consultation about removing his wisdom teeth. Without initiating further testing, a surgeon scheduled an operation to remove the mass, but the lawsuit states that the operation the surgeon performed was not quite the same as the one the patient was told he would be receiving.
The lawsuit states that in addition to performing a different type of operation, the surgeon proceeded to attempt to remove the mass even after the patient began to bleed profusely. Due to substantial blood loss, he had to be airlifted to another facility to undergo an emergency operation to stop the bleeding. Reports indicate that the incident cause him to suffer permanent damage and he was recently awarded a substantial monetary judgment during legal proceedings.
